Volunteer

Volunteers keep Daily Bowl on the road — about 500 hours a month between them. Ride along on a route, sort and weigh produce, drive a van, or help in the office. An average shift is about three and a half hours.

When

  • Weekdays, 9:00 am to noon
  • Sundays, 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm

What you need

  • Be 18 or older
  • Be able to lift crates of produce, sometimes up to 50 pounds
  • A clean driving record if you would like to drive

What we provide

  • Training in safe lifting and in loading and unloading the vans
  • A crew that has been doing this for ten years
  • The best-fed volunteers in Alameda County

How to start

Email [email protected] and tell us a little about yourself and when you are free. We will reach out to schedule your first shift. Before you come, please read the Volunteer Handbook and sign the release of liability.

Not a lifter?

We also need help with bookkeeping, clerical work, events and outreach. Tell us what you are good at.
