About Daily Bowl
Our Mission
A simple approach to reducing food waste and ending hunger
At Daily Bowl, our mission is simple. We recover surplus edible food that would otherwise go to waste and deliver it to local agencies to feed needy families and individuals.
Food waste is a very serious visible problem, whereas Hunger is a very serious but invisible problem. Nearly 40% of all edible and nutritious food is deemed surplus and tossed away. And nearly 30% of local community residents face food insecurity, with limited access to fresh, nutritious food.
Daily Bowl works with businesses such as farmers markets, restaurant distributors and restaurant wholesalers, institutional kitchens, restaurants, hospitals and the like to glean their surplus and quickly deliver it to a network of food pantries, social service agencies, soup kitchens and places of worship to help vulnerable food insecure community members.
Our Motto: Saving Food Feeding People
