StopWaste, Alameda County’s waste-reduction agency, made Daily Bowl’s very first grant in 2017 and has supported us every year since, including a technical-assistance contract helping businesses meet SB 1383.
In 2022 StopWaste recognized Daily Bowl and Daylight Foods with its Efficiency Award for excellence in food recovery collaboration.
The City of Fremont has funded Daily Bowl’s work through its Social Service Grant program every year since 2019, supporting deliveries to agencies across the city.
Fremont Bank opened Daily Bowl’s first account in August 2016 and lent us a conference room for our earliest meetings. Its foundation gave one of our first emergency grants when the pandemic hit, and in 2025 it paid for the wrap on our new refrigerated box truck.
Fremont Bank is a Harvest Bowl sponsor of our tenth-anniversary celebration.
The Sisters of the Holy Family, based in Fremont, have supported Daily Bowl with grants since 2023 and are the title sponsor of our tenth-anniversary celebration. “We are known as gleaners, too,” they told us.
The Grewal Family Foundation has supported Daily Bowl since 2019 and is a Farmers Bowl sponsor of the tenth-anniversary celebration.
Alameda County’s Board of Supervisors has backed Daily Bowl since 2017, through district grants, the county commendation of May 2019, and two of our refrigerated vans. The county’s “All In” food-recovery pilot in 2016 is where several of our founders first worked together.
Supervisors Wilma Chan, Richard Valle, Scott Haggerty, Elisa Márquez, Lena Tam and David Haubert have each had a hand in keeping our vans on the road.
