Kaiser Permanente Fremont has donated surplus food to Daily Bowl since December 20, 2016 — longer than any other partner. What started as a kitchen handing off what it could not serve became something bigger.
In January 2020, Kaiser Fremont became a “zero food waste” facility, with Daily Bowl collecting everything edible that would otherwise be thrown away. The protocols the two organizations worked out together have since been adopted by hospitals across the state.
Kaiser Permanente has also supported Daily Bowl’s work with grants, and its Fremont kitchen remains one of our most consistent sources of prepared food for the agencies we serve.
